Making the Multimedia Box Your Own

The Multimedia Box in the Thesis theme we use on this site will automatically load photos or other images you place in your “rotator” directory on the server. I’ve set up FTP accounts for you that will take you to the directory where your custom files are kept. Add your photos to the “rotator” directory, delete the sample files, and you’re all set.

Thank you for coming to our training session

Thank you to the teachers who attended our training sessions Feb. 24th. I was glad to see you all, and I hope you learned enough to start creating your new websites.  We had a little glitch — Murphy’s Law in action — over lunch when I discovered our system upgrade to WordPress 3.1 caused some plugins to crash the back end. This has been fixed and we appear to be back up, but I have had to disable some plugins (most notably, the forum) until I can resolve the conflict. Afternoon trainees, you may now log in and work on your sites.

Greetings, Poplar Bluff Teachers!

Welcome to the new Poplar Bluff Teacher Network, a place where you can build your own WordPress website with the following features:

  • A public website with content open to everyone
    • Use our theme (the site’s template/look/feel), modify our theme for your site or request installation of your own WordPress theme (contact the webmaster)
    • Use WordPress to add/edit web pages/log posts/other content
  • A login area with site user accounts for your students/their parents
  • A forum for your site users
  • You manage your user accounts
  • You decide which pages are public or private (visible to site users only)
